Strong Women at Mercedes-Benz Bank: The air of the Olympics at the bank.

“It is every athlete’s dream. When you’re there you just really can’t describe it. I still get goose bumps” - Ulrike Schümann is one of the greats in German sailing. Her sporting highlight: Taking part in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and walking in with all the athletes in the light of the Olympic torch. Now, based in Berlin, she is the Head of HR at the Mercedes-Benz Bank Berlin and Saarbrücken Service Centers and part of our series on “Strong women at Mercedes-Benz Bank”. She weathers the storms in the job with tricks and knowledge from her sailing background, since team spirit, cohesion and perseverance are necessary everywhere, whether on the water or in the office. Our colleague, Julia Raizner from the Communications department, met Ulrike Schümann for an interview at her favorite place - on the Wannsee lake in Berlin.
